Pick Zones

A variety of goods can be picked in a pick zone. The goods are assigned to a pick zone. The goods are not linked to a fixed pick location.

A pick zone can be configured static with all fixed pick locations, or dynamic, where the items can be placed on any location.

In the case of a dynamic pick zone, there are more goods than places. Because of the dynamic character of the pick zone, goods that are needed at that moment are placed in the pick zone (because orders have been created for those goods, for example). Other goods that are not required at that moment will be removed from the pick zone to make place for the requested goods.

For example: In warehouse 100 (1) a pick zone (3) is created in aisle B to pick 30 types of regional beers. 5 racks (2) are created with 15 locations (4) in total. Therefore, maximum 15 regional beers can be placed for picking. If, for example, there is a promotion for a regional beer, 5 extra locations can be created for the promoted beer. Other beers will have to be moved to make room. In other words, space is created in the pick zone.

A pick zone is suitable for very slow movers. Here you only need few locations for many products.

For example: 20 pick locations for 100 items.
