Task types

Objective supports a fixed set of task types, allowing goods to be put away, relocated, picked,... The task types are used to divide the tasks according to their function.
No task type can be added or removed in Objective. All task types are already set in Objective.
The following configurations are still possible for existing task types:

Possible task types:

Task Type Explanation
CROSSDOCK A crossdock task is a task where you skip the relocation to a storage location. For example: The delivered goods are required for an order immediately. In this case the goods are not put away but used immediately for the order.
INDIRECT

A logistic indirect task is a supporting task which does not impact inventory (in contrast to other task types).

Examples of indirect tasks:

  • repair a wheel of a pick cart
  • re-print torn labels
  • bring empty pallets to a production line
  • empty a chip container
  • clean up spilled oil
INVENTORY Checking the inventory in the warehouse.
LOAD Load the truck.
MOVE Relocating the goods in the warehouse to, for example, reorganize the warehouse.
OUTBOUND Marshaling the picked goods.
PICK Picking the goods.
PRINT PICK LIST If working with system directed pick lists and menu directed pick tasks, this task is generated so that the operator obtains an overview of the pick tasks that need to be executed.
PUT Putaway the received goods or production goods.
REPLENISH Replenishing the pick locations, pick zones and LPN buffers.
TRANSFER

After finishing off a pick task, a transfer task can be created to transfer the goods to the right location.

After a transfer task of which the items have not yet reached their final destination, a new transfer task can be created.

UNLOAD Unload the already loaded goods from the truck.
CREATE PICK CART Creating a pick cart task enables users to create a pick cart without a pick task in the first work zone. As a pre-requisite, the pick cart should visit all the work zones of the Pick and Pass path (or zone) in a sequence, with or without a pick task.
TRANSFER TASK Transfer task enables users to move a pick cart in a pick and pass zone without a pick task in the specified work zone. As a pre-requisite, the pick cart should visit all the work zones of the Pick and Pass path (or zone) in a sequence, with or without a pick task.
