Attribute settings

Via Attribute Settings within System Management, the names of the free fields can be set. It can also be determined if the fields are visible, and if their values can be edited.
  1. Choose System Management > General Settings > Attribute Settings in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Choose Configuration > Attribute Settings in the Data Pane.
  3. In the option group Attribute Settings, select in the drop-down menu the entity for which you want to set the free fields.
  4. Select in the tree structure the free field you want to set ((Text, Date, Flag or Number).
  5. In the option group UI Settings, set the following for the selected free field:

    Title

    Enter the title of the free field. These titles will be used in the tables, and under the tab Free Fields at the relevant entity in the Configurator and the Supervisor.

    To reset the title to the default value, click Reset title .
    Visible

    If checked, the free field will be visible in the tables and under the tab Free Fields at the regarding entity in the Configurator and the Supervisor.

    Free fields for which this field is unchecked will be displayed in gray in the tree structure.
    Editable

    If checked, the value of the free field will be editable in the Configurator and the Supervisor.

    Free fields for which this field is unchecked will be displayed in italic in the tree structure.
  6. For free fields of the type Text and Number, it can be determined which way the selected field can be entered. Select one of the following options under the tab Data Settings:

    Default

    If a custom configuration has been provided for the completion of this free field, this setting will make sure that this configuration will be retained.
    None A value of your choice can be entered for this field.
    List A fixed list can be composed with possible options. These options will appear as drop-down menu when entering this free field.
    • Click Add Value , enter a value and click OK.
      In free fields of the type Number, it is only possible to enter numerical values.
    • Repeat to add more values.
    • Select a value and use the arrows to edit the sequence.
    • If the field Allow other values besides the specified selection is checked, it is possible to enter a free value of your choice in the free field instead of a value from the drop-down menu.
  7. If required, add translations for the title of the free field. See Add translations via tab.
    Translations can only be indicated if the title has been changed.
  8. To recover the default UI settings for the selected free field, click .
    Client restart is required for the UI changes to take effect. It is not necessary to restart the server.
