Device setup instruction

A device setup instruction is similar to a plain setup instruction, but can be used to establish the communication between the application server and the device server. The device setup instruction makes sure that device settings can be directly configured in the wizard.

When adding a device setup instruction, Device Settings can be added:

Field Explanation
Device category Choose the desired category out of the following options:
  • Generic
  • Scale
  • Multihead weigher
  • Checkweigher
  • Metal detector
  • Flowpack
  • Scanner
Device type Select the device. Depending on the category, a choice can be made between all device types which are supported by the device handler.
Device Command The device server controls the communication between the different devices in the production line and Objective. Device commands are transmitted from the application server to the device server, which transmits the signals to the devices.

Select the device command out of the fixed list which emerges based on the Device category and Device type. Only for the device category Generic, a free entrance is possible.
Device ID Enter the Device ID, as known for the device server.
