Instruction Sheets

In addition to individual instructions, Objective also offers so-called Instruction Sheets. These allow grouping of previously configured instructions and to have them carried out together based on specific criteria. Instruction sheets can have there own triggers, irrespective of what was set on the separate instructions. Certain instruction sheets are related to a specific production step, for example the setup, others need to be carried out repeatedly, such as a quality sheet that must be carried out every so often or after a specific number of products or production quantity.

The characteristics of the instruction sheets also determine the follow-up:

  • Quality sheet: after execution of all instructions, an 'OK' or 'Not OK' result will be given. The instruction sheet will be tracked after every execution (for a plain sheet, only the last result will be tracked).
  • Take-off sheet: needs to be executed with a positive outcome before the operator can move on to the next segment of an operation (for example: production can only be started after the setup has been completed correctly).
  • Double Sign-Off: the instruction sheet needs to be validated by 2 persons (operator/supervisor). In case of deviating results, the supervisor can still approve them (with explanation) or can request that they are carried out again.
  • OCAP instruction sheet: if the instruction sheet needs to be considered as 'Out of Control Action Plan'. OCAP instruction sheets are not displayed on the operator screen unless they are triggered as follow-up action by another instruction or instruction sheet.

Instruction sheets can exist at different levels with constantly a higher degree of detail and the possibility to overrule:

  1. Resource type (for ex. all production lines) per operation
  2. Machine (for example line 5) per operation
  3. Recipe (item) / operation
  4. Recipe (item) / operation / machine

The result of an instruction sheet can be OK, Warning or Error.

An action can be triggered based on this result. This can be e.g. show an operator help text, send a notification e-mail or one or several OCAP instructions.

Filters can be added to make the applicability of instructions and instruction sheets variable. That way it is possible to add all necessary instructions on the highest level during configuration, and the filter will ensure that only the instructions of which the filter matches with the operation to be executed will be sent to production.
