Modify operation routing

Modifying operation routing is a common practice in manufacturing industry to adapt to changing circumstances, optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, improve product quality, or accommodate variations in product demand.

A routing is a set of instructions that outlines the specific steps, work centers, machines, tools, materials, and resources required to produce a product.

When a production order is created using a recipe with alternative and optional operations, both default and optional operations are visible in the data pane, but all alternative operations remain hidden. When the production order is released, all default operations are released, but all optional operations remain in the idle status.

  • Default operation and their alternative operations are represented by .
  • Optional operation is represented by .
  • It is only possible to activate optional operation in the MES Operator Client but alternative operations can be activated both by Supervisor and MES Operator Client.
