VAL activities

VAL is short for Value Added Logistics. A VAL operation is an operation that adds value to an item. Example: Wrapping an item in gift paper.
The item will not receive a new item number!

For example: Customer A want items with a promotion label. Customer B wants items with a label with a red border surround. The items are picked (1) and moved to the WIP-IN Location (2) of the VAL work center (3). At the VAL work center (3) the operator executes the instructions (4) relevant to the VAL operation. The finished items are moved to the WIP-OUT Location (5) of the VAL work center (3). The items will be moved to Customers A and B via various actions (6).

To produce a VAL order, items (2) are picked (3) from the warehouse (1) and prepared as inputs (4) for the VAL operation (5). The outputs (6) of a VAL operation (5) are moved (7) to a marshaling location (8) for an order.
