Edit a sequence

Existing number sequences from which no numbers have been used yet, can be edited.
  1. Choose System Management > Number Sequences in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Select the number sequence in the Data Pane.
  3. Select the sequence from the list of number sequences.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Click Edit Sequence in the toolbar below the list with number sequences.
    • Right-click the selection and choose Edit Sequence in the shortcut menu.
    The dialog box Wizard Edit Sequence will appear.
  5. The ID in the option group Number Sequence cannot be edited.
  6. Where applicable, in the option group Settings, edit the fields below:

    Prefix

    Select the characters that should appear before the number in the sequence.

    For example: BO (Backorder), PUT (Putaway),...

    # Digits

    Choose the number of digits of the number that should be entered. If you enter a higher number of digits than the maximum value, the value will automatically be completed with zeros until it reaches the number of digits entered.

    Please note: The number of digits cannot be less than required for the maximum value entered.

    Suffix Enter the characters that should appear after the number in the sequence.
    Minimum Check this option and enter the first number with which the sequence must start. If you leave it unchecked, the sequence will start by default with 1.
    Maximum Check this option and enter the highest number with which the sequence must end. If you leave it unchecked, the sequence will end by default with the highest possible number according to the number of digits entered.
    Warning

    Enter the number at which a warning should be sent out to indicate that the current number sequence is almost finished.

    If you leave it unchecked, a warning will only be sent out when the last number of the sequence is used.

    For example: The maximum value is 10,000 and the warning value is set to 9,950. When the number 9,950 is used, a warning will be displayed. This enables the configurator to add a new sequence in time.

    Please note: The warning value should be lower than or equal to the maximum value.

    Valid From By default this will show the present date. Click to select a date from which the number sequence should be used.
  7. In the option group Example, the minimum value and the maximum value of the sequence generated in accordance with the settings above will appear.
  8. Click Finish.
    Click Copy Sequence and Paste Sequence to copy and paste an existing sequence and then edit it.
