Create a relation between operations

Relations between operations within the same production order that are still in the status IDLE can be created via Production Orders.
  1. Choose Production Management > Planning Cells in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Select the planning cell.
  3. Choose the tab Planning.
  4. Click Add Relations .
  5. Click the start or end time of an operation and drag it to the start or end of the other operation.
    A relation from the start of an operation to the end of another operation is not allowed.
  6. In order to edit the relation: Right-click the relation and choose Edit Relation.
  7. If required, make the following selections in the option group Properties:

    Type Another relation type can be selected in the drop-down menu (FINISH-TO-START, END-TO-END or START-TO-START).
    Minimum Delay Enter the minimum time required between the 2 operations.
    Maximum Delay Enter the maximum time allowed between the 2 operations.
    With this, the supervisor can reposition the operation on the planning board, but the minimum and maximum delay will have to be adhered to.
    Auto start

    This option can only be checked if the option Locked Relation is also checked.

    This option only works for a START-TO-START relation, and will ensure that the operations will be started together via one action.

    Auto stop

    This option can only be checked if the option Locked Relation is also checked.

    This option only works for a START-TO-START relation, and will ensure that the operations will be stopped together via one action.

    Locked Relation

    Forcefully binds two operations of the same or different production orders to each other. If one of the operations is moved in the planning, the other operation will move as well. If a delay was set for this relationship, this will also be taken into account.

  8. Click Finish.
    • Click or to zoom in and out on the operations.
    • Click or to proceed to the previous or next operation.
    • Right-click a relation and choose Remove Relation to remove a relation.
    • Click Select to avoid the accidental dragging of relations.
