Add a new segment

  1. Choose Attendance Management > Days in the Navigation Pane.
  2. Select the day in the Data Pane.
  3. Click Edit Day in the toolbar of the tab Days.
  4. Click Add Segment .
  5. In the option group Properties, enter the following data:
    FieldExplanation
    Name The name of the segment.
    Description The description of the segment.
    Code Enter the day code of the segment or click Select Code , select the code and click Finish.
    Category

    Leave this field empty or select one of the following categories from the drop-down menu:

    • A.M., morning.
    • P.M., afternoon.
    Start

    Enter the start hour of the segment.

    Choose -1, 0, or 1 from the drop-down menu, so that it is impossible to calculate an incorrect duration.

    Example: The segment starts at 22:00 (-1) and ends at 06:00 the following day (0). The duration is valid and lasts 8 hours.

    End

    Enter the end hour of the segment.

    Choose -1, 0, or 1 from the drop-down menu, so that it is impossible to calculate an incorrect duration.

    Example: The segment starts at 22:00 (-1) and ends at 06:00 the following day (0). The duration is valid and lasts 8 hours.

    Is Labor Time Check if the segment shows labor time.
    Break Duration

    Enter the duration of the break to be taken during the segment.

    Can only be entered if the segment is defined as labor time.

    Days

    Enter the proportion of the segment expressed in days (between 0 and 1).

    This value is used to perform conversions to days and can only be entered if the segment is defined as labor time.

    • The segment times cannot overlap!
    • If there is a conflict between the segments, a message will appear in the bottom left corner of the dialog box Wizard Add Segment.
    • In case of a conflict: Select the overlapping segment and click Remove Segment .

    The duration of the segment can be longer than 24 hours!

    In addition to the planned labor time, segments can be added prior and after to record overtime.

    The duration cannot be negative!

  6. In the option group Core Time, enter the following data:
    Core time can only be enabled and set if the segment is defined as labor time.

    Enable core time Check to enable core time. This is used to set the times of mandatory attendance by the employee.
    Start core time.

    Enter the start hour of the core time.

    If the start of the core time is a day later than the end of the core time of the previous segment, enter 1 after the set start of the core time.

    End core time.

    Enter the end hour of the core time.

    If the end of the core time is a day later than the start of the core time, enter 1 after the set end hour.

  7. In the option group Information, the following data appear automatically:
    FieldExplanation
    Duration The duration of the entire segment.
    Labor Time The time devoted to labor in this segment.
    Duration Core Time The duration of the core time. The set mandatory attendance time for the employee.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Repeat steps 4 up to and including 8 to add segments.
  10. Click Distribute Day to let Objective do the distribution.
    The duration will be converted to an exact percentage of a day worked. Use this for calculating a proportional conversion of performance per hour for counters expressed in days. For example: 2 segments labor time of 4 hours are converted to 2 times 0.5 days.
  11. Confirm in the dialog box Distribute Day.
    In the column Days you can see the distribution. You can edit this distribution manually, if you wish.
  12. Click Finish.
