Set the default labor options

The direct and indirect activities are configured at the machines in the module Production Management. The usage of direct and indirect activities when an employee starts an activity, is set in the module System Management.

Choose System Management > MES Settings > Labor Settings in the Navigation Pane.
Choose Configuration > Labor Settings > Default in the Data Pane.

In the option group Direct Labor Options, complete the fields below:

Field	Explanation
Usage of activity codes	Select in the drop-down menu whether an employee can choose a direct activity when starting an activity (Enabled) or not (Disabled).
Default activity code	When an employee starts an activity, the selected direct activity is displayed by default. Click Activity Selection , select an activity and click OK. Where applicable, you can click Allow the user to edit this setting to ensure that the user can only use the set default value. The default activity code can only be set when the option Usage of activity codes is enabled.
Simultaneous direct activities by the same user	Select one of the following options: Not Allowed, the operator can only execute 1 direct activity at a time. Allowed on same resource, the operator can execute multiple direct activities simultaneously on the same resource. Allowed anywhere, the operator can execute multiple direct activities simultaneously.

Usage of activity codes

Select in the drop-down menu whether an employee can choose a direct activity when starting an activity (Enabled) or not (Disabled).

Default activity code

When an employee starts an activity, the selected direct activity is displayed by default.

Click Activity Selection , select an activity and click OK.
